Wow Ski sounds syked for this. BTW, the CTP is for BEER (you don't have to ask, I'll just tell you)! The guys who throw this tourney are dedicated to the sport and always put in WAY more money than they take which means more fun for us! This is a good time so don't sleep on the sign-up. Not to mention Whispering Falls is one of the most underrated courses in the North Eastern quadrant. Satisfaction guaranteed!

The course is looking great but there is always work to be done. If you love the course and have a little time to spare we are having a scheduled work day Sunday August 8th. Please contact Brad or myself here if you can make it out for any amount of time on this day or if you want to help and can't make it this day.

If not, come out on Sunday's and get some practice in before the Harvest!! See you out there.

This is my favorite tournament of the year ( and maybe the only one I play this season ). I can't wait for the second time around. In my opinion, best overall family/disc golf/fun atmosphere of any tournament I have ever played.

Workday: 3rd Annual Whispering Falls Harvest, August 21st

Postby raj5021 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:11 pm

This Sunday, August 8th, Work Day.

We will be at the course no later than 8AM. Focusing on weed whacking and general clean up. Bring weed whackers, trimmers, loppers, cutters, saws, gloves, rakes, water.

The main areas of attention will be:
6 tee sign area
7 tee area, left side
9B pin/fairway
10A pin
13B fairway
16A pin/fairway

The course is playing very well. No major work is planned so even if you can only make it out for an hour, every hour helps.

Please forgive my ignorance, what do these mean?

MPO/FPO: $55
MA1/FW1: $45
MA2/FW2: $35
MA3/FW3: $25

Are these skill levels? MA3 = Male Amateur 3 (lowest level amateur?)? I'm trying to convince a friend to travel with me to this, but he's saying 40-50 is out of his price range right now, but as we're definitely Ams, it may help to tell him it's just $25.

Thanks

C'mon out. We will have a Rec division with a few folks and the intermediate division already has a good number of players in it. For your entry fee you will come home with a stamped disc, lunch, chance for some prizes, and a great day of disc golf with good people. Can't beat it.

How can I determine if I'm Intermediate or Recreational, as I'm not a PDGA member with a rating? I play quite often, but you probably couldn't really tell by the scores I put up. What's an estimated score at Whispering Falls (which I've played once) or Druid Hill (which I play more often) for both levels? At the Dru Hill TNT, I've just been sitting at a 2, if that's helpful.

Thanks

a 2 at TNT would likely be more intermediate than rec. off the top of my head (and that means usually up for debate) if you shoot consistently at or below 60ish you probably should be playing intermediate. above that consistently and you should probably play rec. just an estimate though-- play where you feel most comfortable until you feel (or people tell you) that you should be playing up.

edit: that could be a low 60s break for rec/int based on the set up.

3s at druid should be shooting consistently around par-ish or better and would generally be considered advanced.

Thanks Paul...that's helpful. Maybe I should be going down to a 1 at TNT. I do see some 3's that are far better than I am.

I probably average about 64-65 at Druid. I'll probably stick with Rec level as this is my first tourney, at least, in a very long time.
