Bees/Stinging Insects Alert

Postby MrTasses » Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:38 pm

There is a large (dead?) tree just in front of and to the right of the tee pad for hole 16 that has a very large nest of stinging insects in it, about 10' up the tree. I think they were bees, but I honestly kept my distance enough that I couldn't tell.

Also found a tick crawling on my disc at one point.

They are honey bees on #16 tee. I play there 2 or 3 times a week, as far as I know nobody has been stung. The nest has been there for 2 years.

I made a happy home for a deer tick (I think from Scarboro) for about a day. Here's hoping for no rash.

Good to know those are honey bees. They didn't seem agressive but didn't want to take my chances either.

We just wiped out two yellowjacket nest in the area that has yet to open. But just a little warning if you come across some displaced workers we missed before we invaded their home.

The Honey bees in the tree above 15 (old 16) are there again. They shouldn't be an issue unless your messing with them.
