Great job on the new holes Jeff!

I played Saturday and really enjoyed the new holes. Got a 3 on 16 and a 4 on 17 ,missed a 20ft uphill for par :(

The walk from 16 tee to 17 pro tee is officially Rick Romeo fitness approved!

It would be a killer on a speed round! Phew! Not sure if I wanna try. :D

I can picture the changes -- I think they sound great, and can't wait to get a chance to play them. Thank you all for your continuing work on making Scarboro an even better course.

I shot a round here today with my boy deuce, and I agree with the walk to 17 being a bit challenging! I actually had to pace back and forth for 5 min. because i thought I was going to have a heart attack, but when it was time to shot I realized that this hole was no joke and totally worth the effort to to get up there. Might be a good idea to install a nice size bench up there.

Can any local Homie judge the ratings for the current layout? I shot a 5 under. My highlights where parking hole 2... then hitting chains on hole 5...65 ft putt on 17 for a bride which hit the basket and rolled down the hill another 40ft for a come back putt that i nailed.. bogey free round.

5 under is a solid round. Which tees did you play, red or blue? rubbers? It's hard to give an accurate rating, this layout is easier than the tournament layouts and we don't have high rated players playing consistently with us to compare too. But if I had to guess I'd say somewhere around 970-975 area, maybe a little higher. That's just a guess though. The rating system boggles my mind :?

I played from the red tees! except on hole 2 and on the 18th hole I remembered that there was a long pin by the parking lot so I decided to play to it.

Starting on June 21st course work will be in progress on a almost daily basis. Please bear with us as we are making improvements to the course. Plan is to start building tee boxs for almost ever hole starting with tee 1. We will do our best to ensure that tees are playable when not under construction, however if not please use other tees or play next to tees under construction.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Excited you are continuing to improve the course. I love the work that has been done. I was out there a few months ago and hadn't played the course in over a year. Most of the shortcomings I felt like the course had the first time I played it had been addressed, and it really was an excellent experience. Amazing course, and continuing to improve.

I just wish that all the baskets would stay in their long positions, but that's just me. :)

Figure I will let everyone know about the progress being made so everyone will be aware of them if they are coming out.

Week 1 Updates:
Frame for Red Tee 1 is completed. (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust and pack it)

Frame for Blue Tee 2 is completed. It has been moved slightly to the left of the oringinal tee position in order to make for a cleaner and smoother ally (and to reduce the amount of wood being used). (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust and pack it)

Measurements and planning for Red/Blue Tee 6 completed. (Will start construction on next work session)

Work has been coming along well given that all the resources we are using are discarded materials and we rescued them from a wasted fate.

Again we ask that if you are out playing either take care in using the tees or please play next to them. Thanks for the cooperation in these transitional phases.

While we understand the desire for such, we want them to go long a lot too, one of our biggest concerns we have been forced to deal with is the type of crowd that are being served. While a majority of the players/readers of this board can play to a decent level of game, we have noticed at Scarboro a unique factor to our crowd. A majority of the players we have come across are families playing together and so we do not want to discourage away any players, we have come to realize that the course set in all long will be far to difficult for the vast majority we see, lots and lots of children and first timers. So there is the delima, a good one for sure, but hopefully as the course and sport grows more, particularly in Harford county we may see more things to come. In fact just the other week we had North Harford Middle School bring an entire gym classes out to play for the day. It is a small step in the right direction for sure.

Week 2 Updates:
Weather slowed work this week.

Frame for Blue 8 90% completed. (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust to finish and pack it).

Great to hear that you all are getting such a great turnout from locals and beginners. I'm always glad to see a community get involved.

Maybe there is a way you could overlay a suggested "beginner" layout of 9 holes and keep those in an easier layout, while leaving the other holes in the longs. It looks like 1-7 short, with a jump to 15 then 18 would be a good 9 hole layout to encourage new players, and would save a lot of folks the heart attack hill of 16-17 (which I LOVE -- make em' both longer, I say... you've got more hill to work with). That might be a good way to encourage both rec players and keep experienced players challenged.

Thank you all for your continued work on the course. I've only had the chance to play twice, but I've had a great time and been very impressed both trips out there.

Update on work being completed:

Frame for Red Tee 1 is completed. (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust and pack it)

Frame for Blue Tee 2 is completed. It has been moved slightly to the left of the oringinal tee position in order to make for a cleaner and smoother ally (and to reduce the amount of wood being used). (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust and pack it)

Frame for Blue 8 completed. (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust to finish and pack it).

Frame for Blue Tee 10 is complete. (Awaiting chance to fill in with stone dust to finish and pack it)

Tree work on several holes has been completed. Includes cleaning/widening entrances to 10,12, and other fairways cleaned up. Also took care of a few trees thatneeded to come down, will continue to do so with others as we are able/find them.

Work has been coming along well given that all the resources we are using are discarded materials and we rescued them from a wasted fate. Update: The discgolf gods have smiled upon us and we are in process of "rescuing" them from local playgrounds and similar places.

Again we ask that if you are out playing either take care in using the tees or please play next to them. Thanks for the cooperation in these transitional phases

I was at Scarboro doubles on Tuesday and had a great time. It's been a while since I have been to Scarboro, and I must say the course and tee boxes are amazing. Josh, Jeff, great job on the tee boxes. and to everyone else who helped you guys. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the scorcher, but I would love to sponser a hole. I will defintely be back this Tuesday and hopefully every Tuesday after that. I'm seriously thinking about moving to Harford county

Thanks for the props and you'll always be welcomed to come on back to the Hills ye hear? The course is still young and has a lot to offer yet, work on tee boxes will hopefully continue on past the tournament and eventually be crisp and clean and then plans for bigger and better might be in the works.
