Best Beach Disc?

Postby J-Bolt » Sat Jul 31, 2010 1:35 am

Headin downeeoshun and I want to pick up a disc to toss around in the sand. Something to be caught. I imagine some type of heavy lid-like putter is what I am looking for. I already have a 180g Supernova, but wanted something with a smaller diameter. Ideas? What do you use? Thanks for your wisdom.

Sonic, Rattler, Zephyr, Whitler

I have a premie Roc that is a blast to toss around, and it floats. Might get tossed around in the beach winds though.

1. Superhero 2. Sonic 2. Whittler ( tie for second)

superhero fastback is the most fun and interesting to toss.

The others are ok too, you would have to play a little careful with a premie roc it is a golf disc albeit 100 grams.

So where can I pick up a superclass disc? I don't think Joel and Brian don't carry them. I would like to avoid internet stores.

Toss out ALL of Sharkies idea's!!! You need exactly what you already knew, a heavy weight smaller diameter disc. Zephyr is one of the #1's. There are a few others out there. Swing thru Frederick and I'll loan you a couple.

Zephyrs are a blast to throw, but definitely not small diameter.

I stand by my Sonic recommendation. Superclass feel and flight, golf weight, grippy DX plastic.

I have, it's gawlers dog disc... Not going to stand up to beach wind... Check out Aotearoa- Rippa disc from New Zealand, it's awesome, it's heavy and it's diameter fits inside a Zypher. I don't remember what online host I bought mine from but it's a very cool disc and it's PDGA approved! The old beach stand by would be "THE TWO HUNDRED" WHAM-O's heavy weight lid. Sold at the kite loft found at Ocean City in several locations. I'll be down the beach on Friday, just say'in!

OK you know your super hero my point is I prefer s superhero for a catch game and mta. They are super easy to catch and with the fastback you can get some interesting flights.

Bring them joints to TNT Shirky. I've never seen the Te Moko, only heard the legend!

I'm a big fan of the Discraft Sky Styler. Its a freestyle disc thats got huge glide, and is easy to throw for people who don't normal spend their weekends throwin plastic :)

it's pretty tough to beat a Discraft Ultrastar for tossing - especially on the beach
