Our apologies for the long long wait for this update. We will try to keep things more current in the future. This month's spotlight is on a PA resident, but she frequently plays Maryland courses and events.

It's very different to be a woman in disc golf as women only make up a small percentage of disc golfers. There are tournaments where I am the only female, but there are also tournaments where there are 10 women in your division. I enjoy playing with women because you can see how different they play from the men.
I have seen more clubs sponsoring women for tournaments or offering lower entry fees for women. This does encourage more ladies to come out and play. People like Hawk, Rich, the Nomads have sponsored me for tournaments. Also starting a womens league or holding a women's clinic will introduce more ladies to the sport.
I started about 5 and a half years ago. I was dating a guy who went out and played casually. I enjoyed hiking a lot, and this was just an added element to being outside in the woods. I started playing disc golf, but was really bad at it. About a year later we broke up and I stuck with it and became obsessed with the sport. 5 and a half years of playing one of the best sports ever! I joined the PDGA the end of 2007 as an Advnaced Woman and played two A-tiers that year. I figured go big or go home! i took second place at the Yetter and I won the Battlejammer.
The putt. I really like making nasty putts with my green JK Pro Aviar. When I warm up I putt for about 15 minutes. It really gets me focused on the chains and also to be ready to play.
The approach shot. I have a hard time deciding what to throw between 75 feet and 150 feet. Do I throw a putter or a mid range?
Coming back from behind to win the Brandywine Battlejammer in 2008. After the first day I was losing by 12 strokes to Amy Moser. I thought to myself I would never comeback to win. After the second day I came back to win by 8 strokes!!! 20 stroke swing baby!
One. It was my first shot of tags one day at Sedgley Woods. Hole 16 yellow. It is a blind lefty anhyzer shot downhill. All I heard was chains. I was nice to be $15 richer and two down to start my tag round that day.
Sedgley Woods!!
Eric Yetter Championship at Tyler State Park. First day all pins are in C. Such a beautiful course with all types of challenges for every golfer. The added field holes are nice too.
My favorite MD course is Seneca. Great mix of holes makes it a challenging course. I also feel it is a lefty course, and being a lefty myself this can work to my advantage. I really like that each 9 loops to the parking lot. The Seneca guys/gals have done an amazing job redesigning the course to what it is today.
